Once Humanhas many crafting ingredients made from food items like Onions that you can find as you travel. Although most of these crops are used to prepare basic meals for your character, some have additional functions that will make you want to harvest them. Onions are a great example of this, so you’ll want to get the seeds for this plant to grow it yourself often.
Growing enough Onions with your seeds will eventually cause one to mature into a Deviant andform into a companion creature called theGrumpy Bulb. Like theButterfly inOnce Human, this mutated Onion can help you during combat encounters throughout the game. This creature’s ability to turn enemies against each other can only be utilized if you take the time to gain Onion plants in the first place.

Track Down The Only Vendor Who Sells It
Only one vendor in the game sells Onions, so you’ll have to find them to access this plant and its seeds. To get started goto the Tall Grass Innon the eastern side of the larger Chalk Peak region to get started in your search for this merchant. From here,head toward the top of a cliff past the Motel sign,andgo inside the building next to a shop that sells sandwichesto find this vendor waiting to interact with your character.
Be careful not to use a vehicle like theMotorcycle inOnce Humanto travel to the vendor selling Onions. The narrow ledges of the cliff where the vendor’s shop is located can make it hard to navigate and easy to fall off if you’re on something moving too fast.
This NPC vendor, named Emma Potter, sells both Onions and Onion Seeds for various prices at their shop for you to purchase. They also sellCabbage,Pumpkin, and a wide variety of plants you may need for other recipes. Unlike other items, Onions and their seedshave a Weekly Limitattached to them, meaning you’re able to only get a certain number before an amount of time has passed in-game.
Thechanging nature of the worldshould not impact how you take the Onion Seeds you buy and place them in yourPlanter Box. This will help you start growing Onions of your own and hopefully spawn the elusiveGrumpy Bulbat some point.
