Of all the new additions toWarframein the1999update, understanding the romance feature and how it works is crucial.Warframehas been a long-running game, and though it started slowly, it has grown over the last decade to be one of the most popular MMOs. Many of these changes, along with all the promises of1999, have made 2024 agreat time to get back intoWarframe.

Warframe1999’s new contenttakes the player back to when the first Protoframes were around. Once there, the Tenno learns about how the mysterious “Man in the Wall” has also traveled back to manipulate time to his own ending. This plot point seems like the beginning of howWarframebegins to counteract this being who has been behind the majority of the game’s major events. As with mostWarframeupdates, 1999is not some major content expansion. However, it has more than enough to entertain players and move the story along.

How To Unlock Romance In Warframe 1999

Back To The Past

To unlockWarframe 1999’s romance, you must firstprogress through “The Hex” quest. This is a relatively straightforward quest that will put you in control of one of the six Hex members for the majority of missions. So, even though the rest of the main story quests need to be done first, there are no specific endgame requirements for this particular quest. The mission objectives are all similar to missions already inWarframe, with some slight adjustments to fit the setting of1999.

It is best to quickly check every member’s abilities when playing them for the smoothest experience.

This quest will end by showing how the Tenno was unable to stop the Man in the Wall and each of the Hex members dies. However, a time loop was somehow created, giving you, the player, another chance to redo the situation, and hopefully save the lives of you new friends. This then begins the process of getting each Hex member to like the Tenno, with the option to progress into romance if desired. By being liked by each Hex member and reaching level four with the faction, the Tenno can break the loop with the good ending.

Love Takes Patience And Dedication

Once “The Hex” quest is completed,it will unlock a faction tab on the old PC console in your Orbitor. This tab is where you canchat with each Hex memberonce a day. These chats are important toleveling up chemistryto one of the six levels. To complete the story alone, each member only has to reach the third stage, butfor romance, the last stage must be reached.

Best Friends/Loved

You mustselect the right answer to boost chemistryin these chats and learn more about the Hex members. This part is crucial to giving a daily boost and learning each member’s preferences. The second part of this feature ischoosing a gift whichcould greatly boost chemistry. The best gift option will be hinted at through a previous conversationwith the Hex member orshown in their profileabout things they like.

All Active Warframe Codes (April 2025)

Free rewards are being offered in Warframe in February 2025 through active codes, which can be redeemed for new cosmetics, including flashy Glyphs.

The last way to increase chemistry is bycompleting1999’s exclusive bounties. These are incredibly helpful as they provide a way to grind for the new Warframe, resources, and a once-per-day chemistry boost. These bounties are the standardWarframemissions, except you will have new faction enemies to face, and one Hex member accompanying you as an NPC backup.

Overall, like most things inWarframe, romancing the Hex members is not a difficult task, but a grindy one. However, given it is the first time something like this has been implemented intoWarframe,it is understandable that it may not be perfect and take some time. In a way, the slower pace is a good thing as it gives everyone a chance to really learn about these colorful creations that Digital Extremes have made forWarframe’s first shot at romance in1999.

Warframe

Launching in 2013, Digital Extremes' Warframe is a free-to-play RPG that has evolved significantly since its debut. Incorporating both third-person shooting and melee action, Warframe uses a mission-based structure, although the game also has open-world sections.
