In the past,AMC shows have had much success on Netflix, especiallyBreaking Bad, considered the first show to experience the “Netflix effect.” In 2010, after its third season, Netflix obtained the streaming rights toBreaking Badduring a time when AMC was considering canceling the show. OnceBreaking Badwas available for streaming before the fourth season premiered, it significantly increased its audience on AMC as new viewers binged the previous episodes on Netflix, ultimately doubling its viewership by the fifth season.
