What San Diego Comic-Con’s Thunderbolts* Footage Reveals About The MCU Movie’s Story

Based on the firstThunderboltsfootage that was previewed at San Diego Comic-Con, the story will definitely explore these characters at a vulnerable point after everything they have been through in their respective projects. While time will tell if this is how Valentina is operating, it wouldn’t come as a shock if she is taking advantage of them at their lowest points as she puts this team together. A big highlight from theThunderboltspresentation is how they are definitely trying to keep the Sentry aspect a mystery, despite it largely being known that is who Lewis Pullman is playing.

SinceThunderboltswas announced as in development, it has been described as the MCU’s version of DC’s Suicide Squad, and there are definitely a lot of similarities between the two teams. TheThunderboltsfootage from San Diego Comic-Con highlights that even further, with these individuals' complex place in the world only getting trickier. That is why the creation of this team will be fascinating to follow in theThunderbolts*film, as these are morally gray characters now being put to use by a power player like Valentina.

What will be interesting about how they marketThunderboltslater this year and throughout 2025 is how dark this film will actually be. IfThunderboltsoperates on a similar concept to the Suicide Squad, chances are high that some of these characters will not survive by the end of the film. Hopefully, Marvel Studios will releaseThunderbolts*footage to the public sooner rather than later.
