What Joseph Quinn Has Said
After his emotional sacrifice in theStranger Thingsseason 4 finale, Eddie’s potential return to the show has been a major question mark. Quinn himself recently shared a response, however, that hints audiences may not have seen the last of his character. In a recent interview withET,Quinn teased Eddie’sStranger Thingsreturnby saying he “might have that feeling too” when a reporter expressed optimism about his character appearing in the new episodes. “Or maybe I don’t,” he quickly added, leaving the mystery alive.
Stranger Thingsis now in production and is expected to release on Netflix in 2025.
While Quinn’s comment can’t be taken as a definitive statement that Eddie will return, it’s the most obvious indication yet that viewers will see the character again. What remains unclear, however, is how the character could return. At this point,a full-on resurrection seems like a stretch, given how it would cheapen Eddie’s sacrifice in the season 4 finale and derail what has the makings of an emotional arc for Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo).
