Despite the tragic fate that many of its characters faced, showrunner Leslye Headland shared her hopes toComicBook.comto see many of them return in future content. While recognizing that a Kelnacca comic is in progress,Headland speculated about spinoffs for other characters, including Jecki and Yord. We already have a Kelnacca comic coming up. What about adventures of Yord and more from Jecki? While The Acolyte was apparently her first mission, we could finally have something set at the Jedi Temple?!?

No One’s Ever Truly Gone In Star Wars

Characters Constantly Return In Comics, TV Shows, Books, And Movies

TheStar Warsuniverse has been fleshed out through more than just the movies, asThe Acolyteproved. Even when setting asidethe other upcomingStar Warsshows, there are cartoons, podcasts, comics, and prose books that have all served to better develop the universe and its characters. Long-dead characters, including Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker have all been thoroughly depicted in mediums outside of movies and shows to better develop their histories. Darth Vader may be dead, but that does not mean he cannot still appear in the content set beforeReturn of the Jedi.

Kelnacca, the Wookiee Jedi that joined Indara, Sol, and Torbin on their mission, has already been slated for his own spin-off comic. It will offer insight into Kelnacca’s journey beforeThe Acolyte, while tying into several High Republic books that have depicted key elements of the era beforeSol’s mission on Brendok.On-screenStar Warsmedia tends to borrow from the booksand comics, giving them room to develop the characters outside in character-driven contexts. Yord and Jecki were both killed by Qimir, making future-focused content a challenge, but a character-focused exploration of their past is certainly possible.

Is The Acolyte A Success? Viewership & Rotten Tomatoes Score Explained

Nielsen’s viewing figures give us fresh insight into whether The Acolyte is a success, despite the Rotten Tomatoes review-bombing campaign.

Both characters can still appeareven after their deaths. Flashbacks and projections would allow them to have appearances in content set further alongtheStar Warstimeline. Still, highlighting both characters will be difficult. The Acolyte’s poor viewership makes the two fallen Jedi relatively unpopular, compared to Darth Vader, Boba Fett, or other returning characters. Given that Kelnacca’s spin-off has already been announced, however, Yord and Jecki will likely appear again, even if an on-screen appearance may need to wait for the foreseeable future.
