However, there seem to be some problems brewing.

They reportedly signed on in 2019 “with the goal of rebooting Spidey for television.” The report also reveals that Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Man Noir series is going through behind-the-scenes issues, with “a heated fight over its budget.” Besides its TV ventures, Sony still hasmultiple Marvel moviescoming in the future.

The MCU Already Has The Perfect Way To Bring Back Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield In Spider-Man 4

Tom Holland will return in Spider-Man 4, and the MCU’s Multiverse Saga plans have created the perfect story for Garfield and Maguire to also return.

Should Spider-Man Be Rebooted For TV?

Tom Holland Currently Gives Life To The Hero

The report interestingly notes how Lord and Miller signed on to reboot Spider-Man for TV. That could mean multiple things. The duo’s plans could have been solely focused on bringing different versions of the hero to the small screen, as evidenced by Cage’s upcomingSpider-Man Noirseries and thecanceledSilk: Spider Societyshow, which was the first Spider-Man spinoff series to be announced but was scrapped after two years of development.

There is also a chance that Lord & Miller were planning to ultimately reboot Spider-Man on TV, bringing forth a new version of Peter Parker. Currently, Tom Holland plays Spider-Man in the MCU, with past cinematic Peter Parker actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield having returned inSpider-Man: No Way Home. The two actors are also rumored to be coming back for one or more films. Based on the live-action Spider-Man landscape, a TV reboot of the character would not make much sense.

That said, there is a lot that could be done with Peter Parker’s story on the small screen. A Spider-Man TV series would allow Sony more time to flesh out the character and focus on both major events and more intimate stories. A single 8 to 10-episode season could bring around the same runtime of an entire Spider-Man movie trilogy, which could lead to the most developed version of the character in live-action yet. However, with the report stating there have been heated arguments overSpider-Man Noir’s budget, a formalSpider-Manseries might be too expensive to make.
