When they’re all full, it’ll explode, quite likely causing a full party wipe. The trick is to send the fastest character in, and have them pick up the cube on the altar before it’s too late.This can be confusing, since many players never even notice the tanksfilling up, and the necessity of grabbing the cube is never explained. But even knowing all that, the fight is tough: running in causes to spread electric AoEs throughout the arena, which can easily wipe out the runner and make them drop the cube.

How To Cheese The Hanged Man
As detailed in a video byGrind Hard Squad,a rareFirst Descendantweapon called the Tamer is key to defeating the Hanged Man boss quickly and handily. That’s mainly because of its shockingly high rate of fire: 624 at level one. With the Tamer in hand, alongside the right Descendant and Modules, players can easily propel their DPS into the tens of thousands.
Ideally, this mission can be planned ahead with a full team of four: three of them should have Tamers and Scout Rifles equipped, and the fourth should play as a fast Descendant like Bunny or Viessa. The three with Tamers should lay down covering fire while the fourth person runs in and out to grab the cube. Using Tamers won’t prevent the altar from exploding, or prevent those electrical damage AoEs, but will ensure a steady stream of damage throughout the fight.
During the run back and forth from the cube, the Hanged Man will fire a red laser from its mouth, exposing a weak point within. This is a great time to pull out those Scout Rifles and aim carefully.
How To Prepare For The First Descendant’s Hanged Man
Farming Tamers & Modules
The Tamer can be found in abundance during the Abandoned Reconstruction Site Battlefield Mission, located in the Agna Desert. Ideally, players will want to keep grinding for different variants of the Tamer until they get one that deals toxic damage, as the Hanged Man is weak to poison. However, it’s not totally necessary: certain modules, like Toxic Enhancement, can apply toxic damage to any weapon regardless of its base stats. To reliably find one, try completing the Ship Charging Facility Fortress. Whichever player opts to do the running should also try and equip an Electric Antibody module to deal with the electric AoEs - these can be farmed by killing most monsters in Echo Swamp.

The First Descendant introduces players to a unique roster of playable Descendants that fill the power fantasy urge many will be looking for.
Equipment can make the battle against the Hanged Man much easier, but it’s no substitute for communication. Playing with a tight-knit group, setting roles deliberately, and keeping in touch about next moves is probably the single most important element in this fight. Even so, the Tamer is worth getting. It’s not just useful for this mission, but can be a helpful boon against many of the toughest bosses inThe First Descendant.
