Johnny Blaze And Zarathos Together Are Ghost Rider
The Struggle For Control Of the Title of the Spirit of Vengeance
The Spirit of Vengeance and its host share many similarities with Eddie Brock and his relationship with Venom, as they frequently hold their own debates and conversations. However, Venom’s form has been seen from the beginning. Zarathos has only been glimpsed when bonded with Johnny Blaze. It has even been thought that the fire wreathing the Ghost Rider’s skull was the spirit and the skull was Johnny’s own spiritual form. But it seems that as Ghost Rider, the very body of the anti-hero is Johnny and the face is fully Zarathos, making the dark spirit the one in control.
Zarathos' form is simple. He’s not a grotesque monster, but a flaming skeleton. There might be scarier things in the Marvel Universe (Mephisto, for example), and yet give Ghost Rider his flaming chains and adark ride like his motorcycleand he will prove otherwise. The simplicity of Zarathos is what brings terror - he doesn’t need many frills like Mephisto to enact vengeance. He just requires a physical body, it seems.

The Face of Ghost Rider Is the Face of Zarathos
As Ghost Rider continues to delve intomore mature territory with R-rated weapon upgrades, it only makes sense for Marvel to reveal that a demonic spirit is the face of a famous hero. While it may come as no surprise, the subtle shift from Johnny Blaze as the main force to the possessed body controlled by an animating force is a terrifying one.
For now, Johnny Blaze and Zarathos have re-bonded. The Ghost Rider is back and revving his bike. This is no superhero with a mask he can take off - this is a man bonded with a dark spirit that is the flaming patron of the damned. WithGhost Rider’s true form revealed, fans know the truth about the flaming skullriding through comics on his hellcycle- and they can’t unsee what they have seen.
