Summary

Fallout 4has many fantastical items in its universe, from thecure-all Stimpaks to the Alien blaster. While those are quite a way off ever existing in the real world, some fans of the franchise have taken it upon themselves to try to recreate various elements from the post-apocalyptic wasteland over the years. Pipboys and Power Armors have been often translated from screen into cosplays and are designed more for a visual than to be functional, but one YouTuber has attempted to make one weapon a reality, with all its functionality.

As shared by RedditorIsabelle_Bruto the r/BeAmazed Subreddit, someone has recreatedFallout 4’s Power Fist weapon. The Power fist is essentially a pneumatic battering ram in glove form, and it delivers powerful punches with the option to upgrade it further with a puncturing modification to penetrate armor and a heating coil to deal energy damage. When combined with the Iron Fist Strength perk, these punching attacks can do far more damage as well.

While the watermark on the video shared to Reddit is of a re-poster, the person in the video who created the real-world Power Fist is YouTuberJairus of All. On his channel,Jairus of All has a whole series of videos in which he tries using it to punch through various objects, starting with the likes of fruit and veg, then concrete blocks, and even doors in a Breaking and Entering-specific video.

Does The Real World Power Fist Work?

Some Are Skeptical That The Hydraulics Are Making Much Difference

While the videos show Jairus of All punching through objects with ease, and it’s clear the hydraulic cylinders at the side of the Power Fist are pushing forward the front plating with speed, the slow motion seems to show them doing this after impact. Many on the Reddit post commented thatthe motion and weight of a large metal object could be the main cause of the damagerather than the actual hydraulics.

Still, it’s fun that Jairus of All attempted to bring some video game magic into the real world in the first place, and it is a very cool experiment. InFalloutlore, the Power Fist was originally used as pre-War hardware for demolition crews rather than as weapons, so it seems almost fitting that it would be used to demolish cinder blocks and other materials in the video. Jairus of All did also show it punching a mannequin and sending it flying into pieces, however, showing it could still do a fair bit of damage, just like the one in the game.

Fallout 4 - Furious Power Fist

While many elements in video games are supposed to be fantastical, it’s always interesting to see what real-world components could be used to bring them to life. Aside fromFallout 4’s Power Fist, Jairus of All has several other videos in which he recreates video game items, such as the hidden blade fromAssassin’s Creedto one ofHalo’s rocket launchers, and they are all certainly worth checking out.

After their infant son is kidnapped, they venture out into the irradiated wasteland of the Commonwealth to scour the ruins of Boston for any sign of him. In doing so, they encounter various factions and companions and use an array of skills and abilities to navigate the apocalyptic remnants of society.
