Netflixrecently revealed an all-new trailer forSailor Moon Cosmos, a two-part film set torelease on Netflix on August 25, 2025. The film series originally aired in Japan back in June with part 1 releasing on June 9 and part 2 on June 30, and fans around the world have eagerly been awaiting its release on streaming since.
Even though the films haven’t been a huge success in Japan and the previous installments of the franchise have been dubbed less than satisfactory by fans, there has still been hope thatSailor Moon Cosmoswill finally serve as a fitting ending to Usagi’s thirty-year-long adventure.

As seen in the trailer, the upcoming two-part film series will be adapting the Shadow Galactica Arc, which is the final arc ofPretty Guardian Sailor Moon. The new trailer teases Usagi’s final battle of the story against Sailor Galaxia, the strongest of the Sailor Senshi. The final installment of the franchise is also expected to feature the conclusion to Usagi and Mamoru’s relationship, making the release one to look forward to.
While it is certainly notthe first magical girl anime, Naoko Takeuchi’sSailor Moonwas a revolutionary series that not only popularized the magical genre as a whole but also thoroughly shaped it into what it is known to be today.
