Shortly before the Battle of the Gullet starts, Aegon and Viserys’ ship is attacked, leading the youngAegon to ride his dragon Stormcloud for the very first time in order to flee to Dragonstone. However, he has to leave Viserys behind, causing the fate of Rhaenyra’s youngest child to be uncertain throughout the Dance. When Aegon arrives at Dragonstone, Stormcloud tragically dies from his wounds, with Aegon’s news of the attack leading Prince Jacaerys and Vermax to fly into battle. As more tragedy strikes Team Black, bothVermax and Prince Jacaerys diein the Battle of the Gullet.
The Battle of the Gullet is expected to happen inHouse of the Dragonseason 3, as Prince Jacaerys seemingly survives season 2.

Aegon’s Age In House Of The Dragon May Still Be A Problem
Aegon may be too young to ride Stormcloud in House of the Dragon
While Rhaenyra noting that Stormcloud will grow gives more hope for Aegon’s Battle of the Gullet moment happening in season 3, another factor may complicate its adaptation.InFire & Blood, Aegon the Younger is already approximately 10 years old when he rides Stormcloud, making both the Targaryen and dragon significantly older than their TV show counterparts. InHouse of the Dragon, Aegon appears to be no older than five years old, given Joffrey is only six. UnlessHouse of the Dragonmagically ages up Rhaenyra’s youngest children,Aegon may be too young to fly Stormcloudin season 3.
