Warning! This article contains spoilers for House of the Dragon season 2.
Summary
I already cannot wait to see two moments fromHouse of the Dragonseason 3 that season 2 just foreshadowed. WhileHouse of the Dragonseason 2 episode 6is receiving some criticism from circles online, I am one who has mostly enjoyed what has been presented. The plot has moved nicely as more scheming and conniving members ofHouse of the Dragon’s castmove pieces around the board, not to mention the fantastic battle sequence at Rook’s Rest earlier in the season.
Alongside the promising plot ofHouse of the Dragonseason 2,Daemon’s Harrenhal vision plotnotwithstanding, I have enjoyed the teases at what is to come. As someone familiar withFire and Blood, the chapter from theA Song of Ice and Firebook serieson which the show is based, I have equally enjoyed seeing elements from the book play out and experiencing the changes that have been made. Concerning the former, there are two massive moments in the Dance of Dragons that will surely be included in future episodes, which I am excited to watch afterHouse of the Dragonseason 2’s teases.

The following sections contain spoilers for Fire and Blood, and likely House of the Dragon’s future seasons.
House Of The Dragon Season 2, Episode 6 Fully Sets Up The Battle Of The Gullet
A Major Conflict In The Dance Of Dragons Is Brewing
In a war as big as theTargaryen Dance of Dragons, there were several skirmishes, battles, and conflicts. One of the more consequential, however, was the Battle of the Gullet. This was primarily a naval battle between the Velaryon fleet and 90 warships led by the Triarchy. The Triarchy appeared inHouse of the Dragonseason 1 during the War for the Stepstones, in which Corlys Velaryon and Daemon Targaryen teamed up against the armies of the Triarchy, led by the Crabfeeder.
Aemond hopes that the Triarchy will attack the Velaryon blockade of the eponymous gullet…

InHouse of the Dragonseason 2, a primary factor in the Battle of the Gullet was teased. Aemond was shown convening with his Small Council, where he stated that he wanted to strike an alliance with the Triarchy and stoke their hatred of Corlys Velaryon from the War for the Stepstones. In doing so, Aemond hopes that the Triarchy will attack the Velaryon blockade of the eponymous gullet. The blockade is preventing food and supplies from entering King’s Landing by sea, causing trouble among the smallfolk. With Aemond seeking the Triarchy alliance, the Battle of the Gullet is near.
12 Best Battles In Game Of Thrones & House Of The Dragon, Ranked
Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon are packed with unforgettable fantasy battles. These stand out as the best of the best between the two shows.
House Of The Dragon Season 2, Episode 6 Teases Daemon vs. Aemond
The Long-Awaited Battle Between Nephew & Uncle Is Brewing
Another potential element ofHouse of the Dragonseason 3that I cannot wait to see is Daemon vs. Aemond. SinceHouse of the Dragonseason 1’s time skip, the show has teased Daemon and Aemond coming to blows as the two main threats of either side of the Dance of Dragons. Knowing what comes inFire and Blood, I have been eagerly anticipating this conflict. InHouse of the Dragonseason 2, one of the biggest hints of the Battle Above the Gods Eye has been provided.
After Daemon is mentioned in the Small Council meeting, Aemond assures Criston Cole that he is ready to face Daemon. These words were included inHouse of the Dragonseason 2’s marketing, proving how anticipated the battle between the two Targaryens is. Aemond states"My uncle is a challenge I welcome, if he dares face me.“Eventually,Daemon and Aemond come to blows aboard their respective dragons, resulting in one of the more vital, exciting battles in the Dance of Dragons' future.

Both Of These Moments Would Make House Of The Dragon Season 3 Truly Epic
The Future Of House Of The Dragon Will Include Many Exciting Moments
Should the Battle of the Gullet and the Battle Above the Gods Eye be included inHouse of the Dragonseason 3, it would likely be the show’s most epic season to date. It is worth noting that the Battle Above the Gods Eye may come later, potentially even being left for season 4. However, ifHouse of the Dragonseason 3 reverts to 10 episodes and includes some time skips as is expected, this event could be in the final few episodes, maybe even the finale.
If House of the Dragon only runs for four seasons, the Battle Above the Gods Eye taking place in season 3 would be more likely.

Where the Battle of the Gullet is concerned though, this is all but guaranteed to take place in the early episodes ofHouse of the Dragonseason 3. Based on the timeline established inFire and Blood, the Battle of the Gullet happens shortly after dragonseeds begin to rideHouse of the Dragon’s unclaimed dragons. With Seasmoke finding a new rider in Addam of Hull and Aemond striking his alliance with the Triarchy, the Battle of the Gullet will almost certainly appear inHouse of the Dragonseason 3’s first half, promising a truly epic continuation of the Dance of Dragons.
