Marvel RivalsSeason One: Eternal Night Falls has been live for a few days now, and it seems getting a healer is no longer a monumental task, as everyone wants to play the newest Strategist hero. Season one brought a massive amount of new content, but the healer mains seem to be struggling to lock in as their favorite Strategist due to Invisible Woman’s popularity.
Glittering-Yam-5719took to Reddit to discusstheir solution to the insta-locking Susan Storm issue they had, and while it might not be the best strategy, it does help them lock in a spot as healer.Prior to the launch of Season one, players noted in the Reddit thread that getting teammates to want to play heals was nearly impossible, so they ended up maining Strategist themselves to solve the problem. Now, they are forced to DPS or Tank with lesser skill than others, and it is becoming a major issue for them.

Auto Locking In Support Has Some Marvel Rivlals Fans Upset
Others Think It Doesn’t Really Matter
Susan Storm, also known as Invisible Woman, does have agreat toolkit to utilize, as she is great at burst heals and throwing out pretty consistent damage. The issue here lies with fans having to choose DPS heroes, also known as Duelists, rather than their preferred healer heroes. CommentorResident-Pain-494states,“Guys I’m having to dps now. They took my Loki because of the new skin, they took sue but she’s… nice. I guess im a dps now"Several comments share the same sentiment, asAmericaPie24says,“It’s funny how everyone all of sudden is trying to instalock support.”
Marvel Rivals Hits One Of The Highest Concurrent Player Counts This Weekend, Outdoing GTA 5 And Helldivers
Marvel Rivals has just reached yet another major milestone, as the hero-shooter has hit one of the largest concurrent player counts of all time.
While some fans are annoyed with this new trend, several players are fine with the new role choice,so long as the player actually knows what they are doing and heals their team. Another comment fromMakjepclaims that Susan’s kit is just right and that her range is just right for those who do choose to play her. While this can be frustrating for those who climbed the ranks healing allies and clutching with ults during combat,it does give everyone a chance to branch out and learn new heroes.

Our Take: As Long As Heals Are Thrown, Play What You Are Comfortable With
The Best Composition Is Not Always 2 2 2
This might be a hot take, but sometimes the best compositions are the ones that we mainly think are going to fail. Having three healers, as long as they are not only doing damage and balancing both heals and DPS, is not always a bad thing. While this can cause a bit less damage to be done throughout a match, it also bolsters healing by a lot and can help keep everyone else, including other healers, alive longer. Many players believe the only way to win is by using the 2-2-2 method, 2 heals, 2 DPS, and 2 tanks, but that is not always the case.
As a Strategist main myself, I don’t mind someone auto-locking a support hero as long as heals are being used. The issue lies with players trying to maximize damage as Susan and not using the kit to keep their allies alive during heated battles. Whoever you enjoy playing inMarvel Rivals, stick to that hero if that is who you enjoy, and if all else fails, swap along the wayto make up wherever needed.
