The potential return of a classic franchise character in the upcomingFast X: Part 2means that Vin Diesel’s Dom can finally meet her. Following the solid$704 million box office performance of 2023’sFast X, a feat that was lessened by the film’s remarkably high budget of $340 million, thehighly anticipatedFast X: Part 2is expected to be the final installment of the celebrated series.Fast X’scastisone of the most robust ensembles in the franchise’s history, featuring performances from Diesel, Jason Momoa, John Cena, Jason Statham, Brie Larson, Charlize Theron, Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, and Tyrese Gibson.
Fast Xalso features an appearance by Han Lue, played by Sung Kang, who was presumed to be dead in the third installment of the franchise,The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Later on in 2021’sF9: The Fast Saga, Han appears once again and reveals that he had faked his death, which allows the drift master to star inFast Xand the upcomingFast X: Part 2. Fast & Furious 11’s Potential Suki Return Means She Can Finally Meet Dom Toretto
Diesel & Suki actress Devon Aoki hinted at the character’s return on social media
Suki, one of the most vital and memorable characters in2 Fast 2 Furious, could be making her return to the franchise afternot appearing in aFast & Furiousfilm in over two decades. Actress Devon Aoki, who plays Suki in the secondFast & Furiousmovie, recentlyposted a photo on Instagramin August 2024 of her huggingFast & Furiousstar Vin Diesel, which has inspired a flurry of rumors and internet speculation that she could finally be returning to the franchise. Aoki’s Instagram post shared the caption “Family (heart emoji). Two decades later, heart is full @vindiesel @paulwalker.” Without reading too much into it, this seems like a pretty solid hint that Suki will appear inFast 11.
Vin Diesel also posted the same picture to his Instagram at the same time that Aoki made her post. His caption read, “One of my favorite pics of 2024… Two decades to this moment… as we are in preproduction for the Fast finale, Pablo sent a message, Suki. All love, always…”. SinceDiesel was notably not in2 Fast 2 Furious, and Aoki has only ever been in2 Fast 2 Furiousother than a flashback inFurious 7and in a picture inFast X, this would mean that Diesel’s Dom and Aoki’s Suki would finally have the chance to meet onscreen.

Who Dies In Fast X (& Whose Fates Are Unknown)
The tenth Fast and Furious movie delivers some surprising character fates. Here is each Fast X death explained and what happens to the rest.
Why Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto Was Not In 2 Fast 2 Furious
Diesel disagreed with the direction of the budding franchise and walked away
Diesel wasn’t on board with the fact that the script of2 Fast 2 Furiousfailed to advance the storylines and characters introduced in the original film.
Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine theFast & Furiousfranchise without Vin Diesel’s involvement, since he is very much the face of the $7.3 billion franchise. However, Diesel walked away from the budding franchise before it even got started, which is why he did not appear in2 Fast 2 Furiousand only had a brief cameo at the end ofThe Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.Diesel wasn’t in2 Fast 2 Furiousbecause he disagreed with the direction that the franchise was heading inand decided against acting in it any further. He wasn’t on board with the fact that the script of2 Fast 2 Furiousfailed to advance the storylines and characters introduced in the original film.

In a 2017 interview with#Legend, Diesel elaborated on his vision for the expansion of the franchise after the 2001 original. “If we ‘sequelized’ it the way studios were doing at the time, just slapping a story together, it’d ruin the chance of that first one becoming a classic […] I was an idealist, and, to me, the script wasn’t continuing the story. If you’re going to do a sequel, do it like Francis Ford Coppola, do it like one of the literary greats, but that wasn’t what they were doing. They were capitalizing on the brand and milking the success of it as long as they could.” Clearly,Diesel has changed his stance on the franchise at large since then, considering the recent installments offer more stunts and star power than substance and character development.
Fast & Furious Is $1.9 Billion Away From Breaking A Vin Diesel Box Office Record
Fast & Furious is one of the highest-grossing movie franchises on the planet, and it’s less than $2 billion away from breaking a Vin Diesel record.
Fast Five Marked The First Crossover Between Dom And 2 Fast 2 Furious’ Characters
Fast Five started to put together major ensembles in the franchise films
TheFast & Furiousfranchise has a lot of characters played by big-name actors in its arsenal. When Diesel made his proper return to the franchise in 2009’sFast & Furious, he was reunited with classic characters from the first movie, played by Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster. It wasn’t untilFast Fivethat Dom started to crossover with some2 Fast 2 Furiouscharacters that have since become franchise staples, such as Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris. While there have been major question marks surrounding Suki’s fate after she essentially vanished from the franchise for the past two decades, there’s a great chance that Devon Aoki will reprise the iconic role inFast X: Part 2.
