In anticipation of the show’s return,Screen Rantinterviewed Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Peyton List, and Gianni DeCenzo to discussCobra Kaiseason 6 part 1, how the peace in the Valley won’t last long and the emotions behind the teased fight between Miguel and Robbie.
Cobra KaiSeason 6’s End Of Peace Will Be “A Little More Heartbreaking” Than In The Past
Withthe Sekai Taikai on the horizon, Daniel and Johnny must determine who are the best fighters to bring with them to the tournament inCobra Kaiseason 6, pitting the various Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do students against one another. But with some of their rivalries still simmering under the surface, Peyton List teases that the end of the peace in the Valley will be “a little more heartbreaking” after the growth the students show at the start of the season:
Peyton List: It’s a little more heartbreaking after building these relationships in the beginning of season 6, and finally being at the Miyagi dojo, and being in the backyard, and feeling like there’s a sense of support. It’s much more heartbreaking as the season goes on.

Mary Mouser: Yeah, definitely. I love the idea of peace in the Valley. I also thought, from a viewer perspective, Samantha, very happy about it, Mary thinks it would be a little fun to stir the pot, so I’m not too mad about the drama that unfolds, although some of it, yes, heartbreaking. But I think there’s the fun karate, it gets heightened, and it happens surrounding the chaos of Cobra Kai.
Tanner Buchanan: I think it’s pretty peaceful the entire series, honestly. [Chuckles]

Gianni DeCenzo: I mean, it was fun while it lasted, having peace, but yeah, like we said, it was all of nine minutes, which I think is a record for this show. So, I think we deserve some props there. But without getting into spoilers, you want to talk about pot stirring? There’s some pot stirring between the binary bros this season, especially a lot of script flipping. You’ll see what I mean later.
Miguel & Robbie’s Fight Isn’t “Stirring The Pot” (But “There’s A Lot Of Outside Forces” Weighing On Them)
As teased in theCobra Kaiseason 6 trailers,Robbie and Miguel will once againhave to face each other in a fight, this time for the team captain spot heading into the Sekai Taikai, though the two seem just as intense as before. For Buchanan and Maridueña, however, they don’t see this fight as “stirring the pot” back up of their past, though tease that “there’s a lot of outside forces” for one of them:
Tanner Buchanan: I don’t know if it’s really stirring the pot. We’ve worked through a lot of our stuff, and I think both characters, whatever may happen, are kind of in it, even though they both are working really hard for something that they love. I think they do know ultimately, in the end, that whoever is best is best for this specific thing. At least for my character, in my mind, I don’t know if it’s different for you.
Xolo Maridueña: I disagree, I feel like Miguel definitely took it a little bit on his end. I’ve never seen him that competitive before, and it definitely hurt.
Tanner Buchanan: Out of competitiveness. I feel like this is probably middle of the road for Robbie. He’s been pretty intense in other seasons. [Laughs]
Xolo Maridueña: But, yeah, I think there’s a lot of outside forces [weighing on Miguel].
