The many weapons inWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2provide you with an arsenal to deal with the Emperor’s enemies, but a select few are the best to deal with heretics. Primary, Secondary, and Melee weapons can all be wielded against enemy hordes or rival players. Choosing and upgrading the strongest of these tools will help you and your squad achieve many victories.

Some classes inSpace Marine 2are limited to what weapons they can use in both PvE and PvP modes. For example, the Bulwark archetype cannot use Primary weapons, as they replace a standard gun with a large shield. Despite the strength of some ranged or melee tools, you may not be able to use them unless you are playing as a specific class.

TheHeavy Bolt Pistolis one of the Secondary weapons you’re able to equip and has some of the highest damage among the sidearms you can use. Hitting much harder than the standard Bolt Pistol, this weapon is perfect for clearing small enemies quickly with high accuracy. Since this weapon can be used by anyclass you choose inSpace Marine 2, it is a great universal weapon any build can wield.

Do You Need To Play The First Game Before Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2?

With a sequel arriving a decade after its release, many players are asking if they need to play the first game before Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.

With a decent magazine and ammo reserve, this weapon is reliable and capable of taking out stronger enemies just as effectively as a Primary weapon. However, without upgrading it for Perks, you’ll quickly find out this weapon doesn’t have anything above average beyond its damage.

The + logo on a weapon’s stats means that it has a higher property in that category than a score with just one number. For example, Firepower 4 means that a weapon does slightly less than one with Firepower 4+.

Those looking for extra range in a weapon should try theStalker Bolt Rifle, a Primary gun with a scope capable of zooming in on enemies. This weapon is not only extremely accurate but also does great damage to enemies. This makes it perfect for headshots at high-priority targets, with shots from the Rifle piercing through smaller foes to take them out if they are in the way.

As you can see in the above video by YouTube creatorFallout Plays, this Rifle has a surprisingly low delay between shots, a trait not shared by many long-range firearms. The only real weakness of this weapon is the relatively low magazine size and ammo reserve. You simply don’t get enough opportunities to fire this gun, making it harder to use as freely as other weapons on this list.

Balanced

ThePower FistMelee weapon is a strong choice for anyone who wants to be constantly in the thick of combat. This gauntlet is straightforward to use, as you swing your fist to create combos of incredibly high damage to enemies immediately close to you. While slightly slower than other Swords you may wield, this weapon can slam through even the strongest enemy health bars.

Stats for Melee weapons are slightly different than firearms, as they have a unique Defense rating. This effects your Parry Window, with Fencing having a large window while Balanced has a moderate window. A Block Defense has no Parry Window you can use with a weapon.

Another reason why the Power Fist is so deadly is due to the weapon’s large AoE energy shockwaves created with each punch. This is great for PvE, giving you a way to clear several small enemies with a single strike and many more as you combo your strikes together. This weapon does struggle in PvP though, making it specialized to Operations andmissions inSpace Marine 2rather than against human opponents.

Arguably the strongest Secondary weapon inSpace Marine 2is thePlasma Pistol, an energy weapon rather than one firing physical rounds. The blue balls of plasma you fire are tied to the weapon’s heating system, only allowing you to fire a few shots before it overheats. Despite the levels of micromanagement it takes to wield this sidearm, you’ll find the effort is more than worth it.

This weapon is perfect for mid-range combat, with the ability tocharge your shots to deal more damageand stun foes. This makes the Pistol potent both in PvE and PvP class builds, allowing you to lock down an enemy with a well-placed shot. The small AoE burst from the charged shot may cause the Pistol to overheat faster, so it works best when used sparingly on high-priority targets.

The Venting Speed stat determines how fast a Plasma weapon overheats when you use it. Managing the meter around a Plasma weapon’s reticle is key to continuing to use the firearm before it burns out for a short time.

TheInstigator Bolt Carbineis a precision weapon designed to fire shots in three quick bursts, creating a spread of damage with each pull of the trigger. While each individual shot doesn’t deal too much damage, using the scope to line up all bullets to hit can tear through an enemy’s health fast. The high rate of fire of this Primary gun can quickly overcome the low damage as you unleash more shots inSpace Marine 2.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Review: A Long Overdue Sequel And Strong Third-Person Shooter/Hack & Slash

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 delivers a long overdue sequel, providing focused gameplay in spite of some minor narrative and technical gripes.

This weapon is flexible at mid and long-ranges, giving you chances to use it in many places on the battlefield. You canzoom in with this weapon or use a scope, giving you multiple options to be accurate with every burst of shots. Those wielding this weapon have plenty of chances to be creative, especially since the gun has a high magazine capacity and ammo reserve.

Another Plasma weapon is thePlasma Incinerator, a Primary firearm that fires large orbs of energy at different targets. Each blast from this weapon is capable of destroying small enemies instantly, with an accuracy applied over mid to long ranges. With a large magazine capacity, you can fire this weapon for much longer than other Plasma tools, provided you manage the overheating system.

Some of thenew content forSpace Marine 2may include more plasma weapons in the future, but for now there are only a few energy-based firearms in the game so far.

According to the above video by YouTube creatorTrue Vanguard, the Incinerator has a charged shot with a large AoE that can easily stun and kill enemy crowds. The range, accuracy, and damage of this weapon all combine to make it a versatile energy tool with few weaknesses. The Incinerator’s higher rate of fire makes it something you can often use as long as you keep the firearm cooled.

ThePower Swordis the most flexible melee weapon you may use, with decent damage and speed. However, the true benefits of this Sword come from its ability toswitch between two different forms. You charge up the basic version of the blade until it becomes empowered, which you can switch to and deal more damage across a wide AoE as the Sword glows blue with every strike.

This weapon can be tricky to use properly, but those who can stay in the empowered mode for longer can cleave through enemies left and right. Finding ways to optimize each form of the Power Sword makes the weapon consistently interesting to wield during Operations ofSpace Marine 2. Combining two modes with a parry can make you unstoppable as this tool is only limited by your creativity.

Perhaps the strongest Sniper Rifle inSpace Marine 2’s excellent violet adaptationis theLas Fusil, an energy weapon you typically want to use at long-range. This Sniper can eliminate most enemies with one to two headshots, but its potent damage isn’t the only reason to wield it. This weapon has maybe the highest Piercing stat of any weapon, allowing one shot to hit multiple enemies when fired.

Is The Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Season Pass Worth It?

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 gives players the chance to purchase a Season Pass, entitling them to a year of new content – but is it worth it?

The shots from the Las Fusil can take out not only the larger enemy you’re trying to hit, but several smaller foes in the same blast. A single, high-powered red line of energy emitted from this Rifle packs a deadly punch, but you have to take time between each pull of the trigger. When used with a reliable Melee weapon or Secondary sidearm, this tool can wipe out bosses in PvE or enemy players in PvP quickly.

TheThunder Hammeris the strongest Melee weapon in the game and perhaps the simplest tool you can use overall. The swings of the Hammer are slow, but pack a wallop with some of the highest single target and AoE damage all at once. Each hit of this weapon creates a shockwave bigger than those made by the Power Fist, cleaving smaller enemies instantly.

The Assault class is the one that gainst access to the Thunder Hammer. Combining the ground pound and jetpack abilities of this archetype with the Hammer’s slam AoE is known to one shot enemy players in PvP modes.

Easily one of the strongest weapons inSpace Marine 2is theMulti-Melta, a stronger version of the Melta Rifle seen within the game. This gun is a heavy shotgun, firing a massive burst of kinetic lead at any enemy that makes the mistake of getting near you at close range. With ridiculous firepower, this weapon can one-shot enemy players, Elite enemies, and half of a Tyranid horde in practically one blast.

Even with a low Rate of Fire and limited Range, these two weaknesses are easily fixed through upgrades and Perks. The larger magazine of this weapon can be improved according to the above video by YouTube creatorLucky Ghost, keeping you from running out of ammo. With more shots to use with arguably the best weapon inWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, enemies will fall without having a chance to ever attack.
