Vi & Caitlyn Become Their League Of Legends Characters In Arcane Season 2, Act I

Two Of The Show’s Main Characters Earned Their League Of Legends Titles

Two of the main characters that morphed into theirLeague of Legendschampions by the time ofArcaneseason 2, Act I’s ending were Via and Caitlyn. In the game, all playable champions come with their own brief excerpts about their backstory, as well as a subtitle that sums up their overall character. For Vi, this subtitle is “The Piltover Enforcer,” while Caitlyn’s is “The Sheriff of Piltover.” Thanks to the events ofArcaneseason 2, episodes 1, 2, and 3, both characters now fit these subtitles more than ever.

Where Vi is concerned, the show depicts her coming to terms with the fact that Powder is no longer inside of Jinx, teaming up with Caitlyn to bring Jinx to justice as a result. This arc sees Vi join the Piltover Enforcers, complete with her Hextech gauntlets. This aligns her with herLeague of Legendscharacter, with the same being said for Caitlyn due to the manipulations of Ambessa Medarda - potentially a character who could feature inArcanespin-offs - at the end ofArcaneseason 2, episode 3.

Viktor looking down in Netflix’s Arcane

Viktor’s Transformation In Arcane Season 2, Act I Sets Up His League Of Legends Character

The third character thatArcanesets up to fulfill hisLeague of Legendspotential is Viktor. AfterArcaneseason 1’s ending, Viktor was left gravely injured by Jinx’s attack against the council. In an attempt to save him, Jayce combines Viktor with the unstable Hextech core, placing the latter in some form of stasis brought on by the Hextech’s unknown magical properties. Eventually, Viktor awakens with a body that is almost completely mechanical, just as his leg was from the Hextech transformation shown inArcaneseason 1.

The Hextech laser that Jayce and Viktor debut in Arcane season 1 is one of the main weapons the latter uses in League of Legends, meaning it could be folded into his storyline in season 2.

InLeague of Legends, Viktor’s subtitle is “The Machine Herald,” with the character always shown to be seeking something he calls the glorious evolution that fixes human mistakes via mechanical methods. This scene is animated with almost biblical connotations, linking to Viktor’sLeague of Legendsstatus as a herald.

Three Other Arcane Characters Could Become Like The Video Game

Beyond the stories of Vi, Caitlyn, and Viktor, there are otherArcanecharacters who could become more like their video game counterparts going forward. The first is Jayce, who is already halfway to this point. The creation of Jayce’s Hextech hammer-cannon inArcaneseason 1 started this transformation, yetseason 2 needs to make Jayce more sure of his future before he can become “The Defender of Tomorrow.”

Another character that already became like his League of Legends champion is Singed, the scientist working for Silco in season 1.

Then there is Ekko who, like Jayce, is somewhat halfway between his origins inArcaneand his endpoint shown inLeague of Legends. Ekko’s fight with Jinx in season 1 showcased his ability to use the echoes of time to outwit his opponent, withArcaneseason 2 likely building on this. Finally, there is Heimerdinger, who was shown building a turret that blows bubbles in season 2, Act I.
