The last thing he remembers is fighting a being called the Mnemonoid, a creature who eats memories, leaving the person he feasted on with amnesia. When he goes to confront the Mnemonoid, Finn is again attacked, waking up twenty years later…next to his wife, the Flame Queen.

He again remembers nothing of the past decades, and is shocked to discover the world has fallen into another apocalypse, one that may be his own fault.

An Alternate “Adventure Time” Future Depicted Finn & Flame Princess’s Love Burning Hot As Ever

In an alternate timeline from the [Adventure Time] comics, however, it seems the [Finn and Flame Princess] overcame the obstacles and created a thriving partnership, ruling over the Fire Kingdom together.
Finn and Flame Princess first met when Jake was trying to cheer Finn up after his crush on Princess Bubblegum sent him into a depression. Looking for a new princess his pal could crush on, Jake discovered Phoebe, who had been held in captivity almost her entire life by her father (and at Princess Bubblegum’s recommendation). She and Finn got off to a rocky start, as he couldn’t touch her without getting burned, and she thought he was another man trying to contain her. Their teenage love blossomed, however, before ultimately fizzling out over their physical differences.

In an alternate timeline from the comics, however, it seems the two overcame the obstacles and created a thriving partnership, ruling over the Fire Kingdom together. The dystopian world of the future shows an onslaught from the Mud Kingdom (formerly the Water, Air, and Desert Kingdoms), but the Fire Kingdom still stands strong against them, the only divide between Mud and the Candy Vampire Kingdoms. There’s been an ongoing war, and unfortunately for everyone, Finn announced he would present an idea on how to stop the fighting just the day before, an idea soon lost to the Mnemonoid’s eaten memories.
Flame Princess and Finn’s relationship wasn’t always perfect, but they truly cared about each other, and everything working against them was an outside force, not a conflict of personalities.

Finn’s Love For Flame Princess Might Have Caused Mass Destruction
Adventure Time#33– Written by Ryan North; Illustrated by Shelli Paroline & Braden Lamb
Flame Princess and Finn’s relationship wasn’t always perfect, but they truly cared about each other, and everything working against them was an outside force, not a conflict of personalities. Before the time skip shows Finn and Flame Princess married, there’s a hint about how the war could have started: trying to help him regain his memories, Bubblegum and Marceline drive Finn past a fight waging in the skies betweenFlame Princess, Desert Princess, Air Princess, and Water Princess. When Lumpy Space Princess suggests Finn could get with her if he were single, Finn asks the Queens about his relationship status.
They shoot him a dirty look and tell him he’s been kissing multiple “someones,” but don’t elaborate. Considering he ends up married to Flame Princess, and the other three princesses continue fighting, the war may have started over broken hearts. It’s a pretty bogus reason for a lot of strong women to start a war, but it may also be whyFinn was the only personwho could’ve figured out how to stop the fighting. Sadly, the Mnemonoid gets to Finn once more, and hisAdventure Timecontinues in an even more distant future in issue #34.
