The series has since released several sequels and spinoff movies, including 2022’sPrey, which was released exclusively on Hulu.Preyreceived good reviews, and reignited interest in the franchise. Since then, the production ofPredator: Badlandswas announced, which will star Elle Fanning and is slated to release next year.
As perThe Hollywood Reporter,there is now anotherPredatormovie in development for 2025.In an interview with the outlet, 20th Century Studios president Steve Asbell revealed that there are not one, but twoPredatormovies coming out next year. However, Asbell had very little to say about the details of this secondPredatormovie, only that “There’s a second Predator movie that we have different plans for.” He even referred to the project as a “a secret Predator movie.” Check out the full quote from Asbell below:

In terms of the release method, signs point to this secondPredatormoviedebuting on streaming. Asbell confirmed several times thatPredator: Badlands, the previously announced franchise film, would come out in theaters.By saying that he and his team have “different plans” for this otherPredatorfilm and referring toBadlandsas “the theatrical one,” it seems like this second movie slated for 2025 will be a streaming release.
Streaming exclusivity does not by any means indicate that this otherPredatormovie will be unsuccessful.Preyreceived good reviews, and many found it cinematic enough to have warranted a theatrical release. Despite these gripes,the movie was incredibly successful on Hulu.It gave 20th Century Studios enough confidence in Dan Trachtenberg and thePredatorfranchise that they were willing to consider a theatrical release withPredator: Badlands. However it ends up reaching audiences, franchise fans should be comforted by the fact that thisPredatormovie will be another Trachtenberg-helmed project, as he has consistently shown his strength in the sci-fi genre.
