As long asWolverinehas been alive, it’s no surprise that his family tree is more like an orchard. The X-Man hero has sired dozens of known children, let alone the countless others that could still exist. Wolverine has also been cloned more than a few times, leading to multiple variants of the mutant hero parading around the Marvel Universe. Unfortunately, not all of Logan’s family share his nobler traits.
Throughout the entirety of his lifetime, Wolverine has closely walkeda delicate line of moral ambiguity. While Logan has embraced his heroic nature, his relatives often lean toward villainy. By nature,Wolverine is a feral beast; it’s technically a facet of his mutations. Whether it be a sibling, a child, or a clone, his family members often share his short-tempered lethal tendencies. Of course, not all of Logan’s spouses have been hero material either. While some of his family, mainly Laura and Gabby Kinney, have embraced heroism as best as possible, these ten relatives have been far from heroic.

1Daken
While Akihiro turned over a new leaf duringthe Krakoa era, the vast majority of his comic career was spent as a villain. While he was still inside the womb, Akihiro’s mother was killed by the Winter Soldier. The unborn infant was cut from his mother by the ancient mutant Romulus before being abandoned at the doorstep of another family. Akihiro became the focus of severe neglect and abuse, as well as Romulus’s personal student, transforming him into the monster known as “Daken.”
Marvel Just Made Ghost Rider Even More Terrifying With One Gnarly Lore Change
Marvel’s newest Ghost Rider, the Hellverine, is part of a devilish plot unlike any other, as Mephisto has something cooking for the son of Wolverine.
As Daken, and later “Dark Wolverine,” Akihiro was a brutal hunter, trained to disregard any life other than his own. Blaming Wolverine for everything wrong in his life, Akihiro spent decades hunting down his father, regardless of the cost. The son of Wolverine has taken countless lives and committed multiple acts of domestic terrorism, without care for anythingbut his short-sighted goals of vengeance.Currently, the mutant is now an unintentional servant of Mephisto, unknowingly serving the Hell-Lord’s infernal whims.

2“Dog” Logan
Sadly, no one knows Dog’s true name. Wolverine and Dog were half-siblings, united by their father, Thomas Logan. While Wolverine lived with his assumed father, John Howlett Sr.,Dog became the target of their biological father’s drunken abuse.Dog was, as expected, treated no better than a dog, and even that is a generous description. Dog adopted some of his father’s darker tendencies, transforming the hurt boy into another menace. On the nightWolverine fled his home, Dog and Thomas went on a killing spree before Wolverine finally killed Thomas and scarred Dog’s face.
Years later, Dog became obsessed withhunting down Wolverine. After a brief encounter in their early adulthood, the two’s confrontation led to the death of their mutual childhood friend. This infuriated Dog, only strengthening his resolve to kill Wolverine. Centuries later, Dog was given a second chance andjoined the Hellfire Academy as an instructor. However, he only took this position to prove he was a better teacher than Wolverine. While his current whereabouts are unknown, it seems that Dog has finally let go of his lethal animosity toward his brother.

3Raze Darkhölme
Raze Darkhölme is, as expected, the child of Wolverine and Mystique. While this version of the character comes from a potential future timeline, he did insinuate that his infant self should already exist within Earth-616’s current time. Raze possesses the full spectrum of both parents’ mutant abilities, althoughhe prefers to lean on his mother’s powers more.At some point during his early adulthood, Raze killed Mystique and took her place. Sometime later he joined forces with his half-brother, Charles Xavier II, and the two createda new Brotherhood of Mutants.
He planned to bring the multiverse’s mutant refugees to Earth and establish a global mutant Republic.

More than anything, Raze is a radical. A selfish radical at that. Raze saw his greatest success during theNo More Humansstory, when he traveled to Earth-616 and instantly moved all of humanity into a digital world. He planned to bring the multiverse’s mutant refugees to Earth andestablish a global mutant Republic.Unfortunately, this plot was a short-lived ego trip for Raze, who only wanted to tout himself as a savior.
4The Mongrels
As was mentioned earlier, Wolverine has been around for a long time, taking many partners and leaving behind many children. In one of hisplots to kill Wolverine, Daken traveled the worldcollecting as many of his siblings as possible. It’s unclear if the chosen mutants were ever told of their familial heritage, as Wolverine didn’t even know they were his kids until after their deaths. The Mongrels were then given to a cult of individuals who held grudges against Wolverine.
The Mongrels became the organization’s attack dogs, sent to attack and torture Logan’s friends and family. The Mongrels and Wolverine finally clashed, leading to the Mongrels' deaths at Logan’s hands.Independently, none of the Mongrels are particularly unique. Disappointingly, only one of its members possesses mutant powers, making for an easy win for Wolverine.

5Varkis
In a one-shot crossover with Blade, Wolverine andthe Daywalkerdiscover a cult of mystical vampires. After seemingly defeating them, the last survivors gathered pieces of Wolverine to regrow into their next messiah. Accelerated through dark magic,Varkis, a vampiric copy of Wolverine, was created.Varkis possesses all of Wolverine’s mutant abilities along with the naturally increased strength of a standard vampire.
Hold Up, Marvel Is Resurrecting the Darkest Part of X-23’s Origin Story That Most Fans Forgot
Laura Kinney’s tragic past is one of Marvel’s most depressing secrets, but now the Wolverine has to face them again. The thing is, it’s a good idea.
Thanks to his healing factor, Varkis can even endure the brutal incendiary style of vampiric death. Even more terrifying is his primal rage. One ofWolverine’s mutationsincreases his natural senses and strength at the cost of his mind. Combining this power with a vampire’s already primal nature,Varkis is a bestial force of dark magic and mutated fury.

6Bellona
Bellona, like Gabby Kinney, is a clone of Laura Kinney. Technically the genetic daughter of Wolverine, Bellona was raised alongside Gabby and eight other clones to serve asbodyguards and living weapons for Alchemax’s clients.Bellona and her sisters were mercilessly brutalized through their training, ultimately killing six and inspiring Bellona, Gabby, and two others to escape. Bellona is the most violent of Laura’s clones, making her an enduring black-ops mercenary despite lacking mutant abilities. That said, Alchemax artificially augmented her to be insensitive to pain and implanted herwith adamantium claws.
In her freedom, Bellona launched a series of attacks against Alchemax before making a name for herself as a skilled mercenary. From Kimura, Laura’s original handler, to Madam Masque,Bellona doesn’t have any clear moralswhen it comes to her clients. However, like Laura and her other sisters, Bellona has a clear hatred for child abusers and traffickers.

7Viper
Wolverine and Viper were both pupils of a woman named Seraph until she died andmade Wolverine swear an oath of loyalty to Viper.Originally known as Madam Hydra, Viper moved up the ranks before being ousted. From there she joined andreformed the Serpent Societybefore leaving for Madripoor. She summoned Wolverine and invoked his oath of loyalty, forcing Logan to marry her.
Viper became a notable villain for the Avengers during theSecret Empirestoryline.

Through his status,Viper seized control of Madripoor. However, after Viper had become possessed by a demonic spirit, Wolverine was forced to savagely beat her back. In return for medical treatment, Wolverine demanded a divorce. Although she hasn’t often been an X-Men villain, Viper became a notable villain for the Avengers during theSecret Empirestoryline.
8Weapons of X
Duringthe Krakoa era, Beast was put in charge of the nation’s intelligence security. For Krakoa’s safety, the Beast began severely crossing moral boundaries within his experimentations. He hijacked one of Wolverine’s backup clones, choosing to keep its feral nature, and transformed it intoan absurdly powerful attack dog. After catching Wolverine’s attention, Beast moved and expanded his operation.
Beast began cloning more duplicates of Wolverine, making each of them physical copies of Logan duringthe Weapon X program. Through this new project, Weapons of X, Beastamassed a small army of Wolverines. These Weapon X duplicates are already destructively unstable powers, but under Beast’s control, they became a tyrannical force that slaughtered countless innocents in the name of Krakoa.

9Shogun
After one of his many deaths, Wolverine was resurrected by a witch in service to the Hand. However, before replacing his soul into his body, the witch took a portion to berecreated as her personal servant. This masked villain was referred to as the Shogun and momentarily served as one ofthe Hand’s most violentassassins.
Wolverine’s Most Underrated X-Men Romance Is Back On, But Will the Spark Actually Last This Time?
An iconic X-Men relationship, between the fan-favorites Wolverine and Storm, has been rekindled in the mutants new From the Ashes era.
However,Shogun wasn’t terribly powerful. The witch Phaedra placed Wolverine’s soul into an inanimate suit of armor, leaving the being voiceless and truly body-less. This meant that Shogun didn’t actually possess any ofWolverine’s strength and powers. Instead, Shogun relied on his absent form as a means of near-immortality in combat. Wolverine eventually decided that the best way to reclaim his soul was by blowing Shogun up.

10Thomas Logan
While he may not be a supervillain, Wolverine’s biological father isthe first true villain in Wolverine’s life.Thomas Logan, a groundskeeper for the Howlett Family Estate, had an affair with the owner’s wife, Elizabeth. As mentioned before, Thomas was a violent drunk who despised John Howlett, taking his anger out on his son Dog. When the Logans were banished from the estate, Thomas and Dog returned, killing the entire staff and John Howlett Sr.
It was at this momentthat Wolverine’s mutant abilities developed. The young mutant stabbed his biological father in the back, killing him. From that moment, Wolverine took the name Logan to hide his identity. Over 100 years later, Thomas Logan has been seen waiting in Hell multiple times. AfterWolverinekilled the Mongrels, there Thomas waited, ready to welcome every Logan to his special pit in Hell.
Wolverine
The human mutant Wolverine (a.k.a. Logan) was born James Howlett, blessed with a superhuman healing factor, senses, and physiology. Subjecting himself to experimentation to augment his skeleton and claws with adamantium, Logan is as deadly as he is reckless, impulsive, and short-tempered. Making him the X-Men’s wildest and deadliest member, and one of Marvel Comics' biggest stars. He’s played in Fox and Marvel’s movie franchises by Hugh Jackman.
